Macro/micro's "Clicks" is a dark and sardonic trip of IDM/Experimental Electronic Music that examines our algorithmically induced social media dystopia Comprised of 3 movements (ambient intro, percussive forward main section, and melodic breakdown), this is for fans of Nine Inch Nails/Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross/How To Destroy Angels, Coil, Lorn, Jon Hopkins, Ben Frost, etc. Here's a short essay providing more conceptual context: "The utopian promise of social media connecting the globe on the basis of common understanding of human worth was a noble and enchanting proposition. If “sunlight is the best disinfectant”, then having more engagement should have allowed the truth to rise to the top. But we’re painfully realizing that the more appropriate quote describing our situation is “a lie can run half-way around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes”. As long as algorithms don’t perfectly align with the ideals of human flourishing, consumers and creators alike will fall deeper into the feedback loop of audience capture until we reach critical mass, causing our civil societies to erupt, then collapse. There is still time to course correct, but we must learn from our mistakes before we become totally distracted by the looming revolution in A.I." Into the Sky (Single Edit)
Here's my latest single, released on 11/11/2023. I hope you enjoy it. Into the Sky (Lyrics): (Aaaaah, for loving you) Reflecting on the past The chance has come at last To say the things I never told you And, thinking out aloud I’m really very proud And grateful for the years I’ve known you You were there for me A rock in stormy seas A shelter from the wind and rain A loving hand to hold Protecting from the cold And shielding from a world of change And now, my love, we say goodbye (say goodbye, we say goodbye) It’s time to fly into the sky (Into the sky, into the sky) Remembering the past And all the things that passed The treasured moments of our history Now, rolling through the years With all those souvenirs And photographs that tell our story We watched the seasons turn We learned to live and learn And prayed for guidance from above Sometimes we said too much And sometimes, not enough We can’t help who we love (I love you) And so, my love, we say goodbye (say goodbye, we say goodbye) It’s time to fly into the sky (Into the sky, into the sky) We wander on alone Along a winding road And bear a heavy load for loving For now, my love, we say goodbye (say goodbye, we say goodbye) It’s time to fly into the sky (Into the sky, into the sky) Unfold your wings and take to flight (Take to flight, now, take to flight) Into the sky ©2021 Carl James Fellows - Mastered by Mixea.commore
